Who Should Attend
Can Pregnant Women Attend Dark Harbor?
Dark Harbor is not recommended for pregnant guests due to sudden scares, strobe lights, and carnival rides; rides all require guests be able to stand or sit safely.
Dark Harbor is not recommended for pregnant guests due to the combination of sudden intense scares, strobe lighting, physical carnival rides, and uneven outdoor terrain.
Here is what pregnant guests should consider:
- Sudden scares: Dark Harbor is designed to deliver real, unexpected fright. The physical and emotional stress of intense scares is not recommended during pregnancy.
- Strobe lights and special effects: Flashing lights and disorienting effects are used throughout the event.
- Carnival rides: All four carnival rides — Zero Gravity, The Zipper, Sinister Swings, and Scary Mary's Ghost Rider — are not recommended for pregnant guests. These rides involve significant physical forces including spinning, tilting, and swinging at height.
- Outdoor terrain: The event takes place across uneven outdoor grounds near the waterfront and aboard the ship, which may involve ramps, stairs, and uneven surfaces.
We strongly encourage pregnant guests to consult their physician before attending. If you have questions or need assistance planning your visit, please reach out at help@darkharborhalloween.com.
