Buying Tickets
Age Requirements and Unaccompanied Minors
Minimum age, recommended age, and chaperone rules are set by each event organizer — check the venue's policy before buying tickets for a minor.
Age rules are set by each event organizer and vary by attraction. There are usually two separate things to check:
- Minimum age — the youngest age allowed to enter at all (some attractions have none; others set a hard minimum).
- Recommended age — a guidance age based on how intense the experience is. A guest can be older than the minimum but still below the recommended age — that's a parent's judgment call.
Can a minor attend without a parent? Many attractions require guests under a certain age to be accompanied by an adult, and some enforce a chaperone policy (for example, one adult per a set number of minors) at the gate. Whether a teen can attend with friends but no adult depends entirely on the venue's policy.
How to find the exact policy:
- Check the event organizer's website — age and chaperone rules are typically listed under "Know Before You Go," "FAQ," or the ticket description.
- If it isn't listed, contact the event organizer directly before purchasing, especially for unaccompanied minors.
Waivers still apply per person. If the event requires a digital waiver, every attendee — including minors — must have one completed. A minor's waiver is typically signed by a parent or legal guardian. See Completing Your Digital Waiver.
Because policies differ by venue and can affect entry, confirm directly with the event organizer before buying tickets for a minor.
